Question 1

What is stem separation?

Accepted Answer

Stem separation splits a finished mix back into its parts — vocals, drums, bass, and other instruments — as separate audio files you can play, sample, or remix independently.

Question 2

Can stemi isolate vocals from a song?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Upload a track and ask for vocals. stemi runs an ensemble of separation models and blends them in the STFT domain, which keeps more of the original vocal detail than a single model.

Question 3

What audio formats does stemi accept?

Accepted Answer

Common mixdown formats including MP3, WAV, FLAC, and M4A. Higher-resolution sources produce cleaner stems.

Question 4

Is stemi free to use?

Accepted Answer

Every account gets 3 free separations with no card required. Paid plans start at $14.99 per month for 50 separations.
